For Mathematics, most cover this topic during last 2-3 month period after completing core subjects.
However,this guy carries around 15 marks which is very crucial.Most gate aspirants seem to skip this,but i would recommend you to solve problems on this subject daily as a starter or when you feel bored with the core topics you are currently going through.
